Charity organisations in Qatar have set up Iftar tents at different places across the country to offer Iftar meals to hundreds of fasting people with a special focus on low-income workers during the holy month of Ramadan. Iftar meals included juices, dates, laban, water in addition to meals consisting of rice mixed with chicken or mutton.
Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) organises 15 Iftar venues
Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) set up 15 Ramadan Iftar tents with a capacity of 2,133 visitors per day or 63,990 over a month. Over the holy month of Ramadan, these activities are estimated to benefit 129,990 fasting persons in total.
ftar meals are being distributed for the workers of remote farms, as follows: Al-Shahaniyah (500 per day, or 15,000 over a month), and Mesaieed (300 per day, or 9,000 over a month). QRCS’s volunteers also have launched an on-the-run Iftar programme, distributing snacks to drivers at the Maghreb time, to ensure safety on road. The plan covers six locations, with a total of 1,000 meals per day, or 30,000 over 30 days.

Qatar Charity set up 45 Iftar tents to offer the gift of giving!
Qatar Charity has launched the ‘Ramadan, The Gift of Giving’ campaign to implement major and seasonal projects in 30 countries, including Qatar. Qatar Charity has allocated QR17.2m for Ramadan programmes in Qatar and nearly 700,000 people are expected to benefit from them throughout the holy month of Ramadan.
Some 45 Iftar tables have been spread across Qatar, benefiting more than 350,000 people at the cost of QR10m, while the ‘Mobile Iftar for Workers’ is expected to benefit 39,000 labourers at the cost of QR700,000. The Ramadan Supply project also provide essential foodstuffs for the month of Ramadan to families with limited income, through the distribution of coupons by Qatar Charity. This project is expected to benefit 10,000 people at the cost of nearly QR1.5mn.
Mobile Iftar is involved in the distribution of snacks to drivers who are not able to reach their homes to break their fasting. This project is expected to benefit 15,000 people.Courtesy:ILoveqatar
