Doha: Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) started to distribute blood-glucose meters for eligible patients at its health centres throughout the country, yesterday.

Dr Samya Al Abdulla, Executive Director of Operation Department at PHCC, said that as part of the continuous development of the health services offered, PHCC signed a joint agreement with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) to manage the distribution of blood-glucose meters, free of charge to patients through its health centres across the country.

She pointed out that access to these devices were previously distributed through HMC only, but now it will be available at health centres and HMC.

Dr Al Abdulla stressed that PHCC is working on a strong and integrated health system that works according to the principles and in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.

Ali Al Mahmoudi, Director of Logistics Services at PHCC, said that Qataris and residents can get the blood-glucose meters and all related medical supplies from the health centres after obtaining the medical evaluation and prescription by the competent doctor.Courtesy:ThePeninsula
